High School: Olympian High School
College: Harvard University

Have you ever felt like a song was written just for you? Reece Akana does exactly that. Coming from a background drenched in musical accomplishment, Reece understands the profound connection between human emotion and the sound waves that travel through the air to create music. Combining his passion for others and music, Reece created the “Composing Music for Kids with Cancer” program. After spending quality time with children at Rady Children’s Hospital, Reece writes lyrics and composes melodies unique to each child’s personality and musical taste, which he then presents to the child among a compilation of other songs. Reece’s musical talent combined with compassion for others, along with his excellence in golf and academics will truly be an asset to the Harvard community.
