The Changemaker League
A leadership program for all kids, K-12 in partnership with Chelsea’s Light Foundation (CLF) & Girl Scouts San Diego (GSSD)
The Changemaker League is an innovative K-12 program that will teach students to be changemakers: community centric individuals, empathic leaders, ability to solve any problem with creativity, stewards of the environment, all with exemplary communication skills. The primary goal is to use inclusion, project-based practices and hands-on learning as an opportunity to teach children that making the world a better place is right at their fingertips. Ultimately, this program will inspire students to become changemakers and leaders in their community.
This program will provide students with competencies that will enable them to facilitate knowledge and skills learned to other students in their schools. One student from each school will be selected as lead changemaker through an application process. We will give tools to these leaders to take the curriculum and inspire their classmates to take action.
Student Commitment: Students are encouraged to participate in both a four-hour activity and a designated community event each semester.
