- Finish Chelsea’s Run
Dream in Color is proud to support a cause that works to pass laws to protect children: Chelsea’s Light Foundation.
Chelsea King was a 17 year old fatal victim of a sex offender. But she was a lot more than that. She was a beautiful, kind soul who loved and was loved by all of those around her. She was the kind of girl that everyone agreed was going to make a difference in the world. When her life was cut tragically short her family wanted to do something to carry on her spirit and help protect other children. So they created Chelsea’s Light Foundation. Chelsea’s Light’s mission is to unite and lead people who are passionate about protecting children. Chelsea’s Light has been instrumental in passing stricter sentencing laws for sex offenders and providing outstanding peer mentoring programs and scholarships for young adults.
When we met with Chelsea’s mom she told us that one of Chelsea’s favorite sayings was “go big or go home” and it is in that spirit that we want to honor her life and support the foundation. We decided to create a one of a kind accessory dyed in an exclusive color. Stephen West graciously agreed to help by donating the proceeds from his pattern.
Dream in Color will be donating $10 from every kit sold to Chelsea’s Light Foundation. The kit includes 2 skeins inspired by Chelsea’s favorite colors; sunflower yellow, tangerine orange, and sky blue, exclusively dyed in Smooshy, plus the Stephen West pattern Akimbo.
