McKenna Vandewalle

High School: Julian Union High School
College: Point Loma Nazarene University

What do you do when you want utter, blissful joy?  If you’re McKenna, you run.  Running is a passion she shares with Chelsea but their similarities don’t end there.  McKenna relies only on her heart and her legs to get her anywhere she dreams and, just like Chelsea, those dreams always involve spreading joy and light. McKenna’s personal motto “Be God’s Sunshine” is a daily reminder to herself that we all have gifts to share. Throughout her esteemed high school career, McKenna shared her enthusiasm and leadership with the track team, the L.O.V.E. (Love our Veterans Eternally) Club, as a bible school counselor, and her many other extra-curricular activities. We applaud McKenna for living up to her motto and continuing to help others around her find joy.

Words I live by:
“Anyone’s life truly lived consists of work, sunshine, exercise, soap, plenty of fresh air, and a happy contented spirit.” – Lillie Langtry
