Corynn Kolberg

High School: Escondido High School
College: Wake Forest University

To sparkle means to glitter, to shine, to brim with animation and life. Corynn Kolberg, former Escondido High School student now attending Wake Forest University, does just that. Corynn was awarded the $10,000 “Sparkle” Sunflower scholarship for more than just her position as president of Best Buddies, vice president and co-founder of the Environmental Science club, or a member of Varsity Water Polo and Swim teams.  Her sparkle is brighter than being awarded the Advanced Placement Scholar Award or her nomination for Honor Chain at graduation. As president of Best Buddies, which fosters friendships between general education and special education students, she garnered the national Outstanding Chapter of the Year 2010. Now at Wake Forest, Corynn’s heavy class load includes Organic Chemistry, Calculus 3 and Biology  but she mixes in volunteering at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital’s radiation oncology center and with HOPE, an on-campus organization that works with children with disabilities.  Keep sparkling Corynn!
